About RECRAS

The origin of Recras

In 2003 Harrie Kerssies and Marthijn Wolting founded ‚Taribush‘, a recreation business for all kinds of family and company outings in Drenthe, a northern province in the Netherlands. During the first couple of years, both owners were rather busy working their other full-time jobs and this made it quite difficult to take care of Taribush’s administration. They needed a system that could keep track of their reservations and everything that comes with it.

In 2006 they ran into Tijmen Klein. In the years before he had started his own computer programming company ‚Klein Informatica‘ and decided to take on this challenge to help Harrie and Marthijn get rid of all their administrative hassle. In the years to come, the guys of Taribush made their wishes for a system known and Tijmen created the first web-based version of the programme.

When in 2010 another leisure entrepreneur saw by chance what kind of system Taribush was using to keep track of all reservations, he yelled out: „That’s what I need!“. Harrie, Marthijn and Tijmen then joined forces and launched Recras: an administration and reservation system for the recreation industry, developed by a unique combination of recreation entrepreneurs and programmers.

The Recras philosophy

Working at a recreation company is fantastic: you get the chance to deliver an unforgettable day out for your visitors through unique activities at beautiful locations. In order to offer such a special outing to as many people as possible, a lot of administrative work is needed. For example, it is necessary to keep track of all visitors, their time of arrival, which staff member(s) will accompany them, whether they have already paid and what needs to be in stock to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Recras is designed to allow leisure entrepreneurs and their employees to rejoice their unique leisure business as never before. We do so by automating business processes as much as possible. Generating online bookings, informing suppliers and sending automatic mails to customers and staff are good examples of this automation process. Of course, not everything can be automated and human actions remain necessary to run your recreation company successfully. Even in those cases Recras will prove to simplify your administration tasks to great extent, through automatic notifications in a proactive, supporting role.

The result? Less administrative work, less stress and more joy from your leisure company. Recras arranges it for you.
